Review on correlation between connexin 32 and liver homeostasis

摘要: 细胞间的信息交流传递对于组织、器官乃至个体维持正常稳态的重要性不言而喻,缝隙连接(gap junction, GJ)是其中非常重要的一个媒介。肝脏作为这一领域研究的热门器官开启了GJ研究的先河,缝隙连接蛋白Cx32作为肝脏特异性连接蛋白(connexin, Cx),构成肝脏90%以上的GJ,在肝脏细胞增殖分化、组织功能稳态、病理生理、毒理损伤及细胞癌变方面扮演极其重要的角色。因此,以Cx32为靶点,了解其表达、定位和功能的多样性变化,开展对其作用机制的研究,有助于今后为肝脏疾病的治疗探索新的方案。本文就Cx32与肝脏稳态相关性进行综述。

Abstract: The roles of intercellular communication in maintaining homeostasis in tissues, organs, and even individuals are of the utmost importance. Gap junction (GJ) acts as a vital medium. As a popular organ of interest, the liver is the first organ to be studied in the field of GJ. Cx32, a liver-specific connexin (Cx) constituting more than 90% of liver GJ, plays an important role in cell proliferation and differentiation, tissue functioning and homeostasis, pathophysiological changes, toxicological injury, and cell carcinogenesis. Hence, understanding the diverse changes in the expression, localization, and function of Cx32, and carrying out research on associated mechanism of action may help explore new methods for the treatment of liver diseases in the future. This paper reviewed the correlation between Cx32 and liver homeostasis.
