Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between upper gastrointestinal bleeding and Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) infection in patients with liver cirrhosis.Methods Clinical data of 342 cases of liver cirrhosis from January 2013 to December 2017 were retrospectively analyzed.H.pylori infection, esophageal varices in the fundus of the stomach, and peptic ulcer were analyzed.Results The rate of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in the H.pylori positive group (43.93%) was significantly higher than that in the H.pylori negative group (34.72%) (P<0.05).The rate of peptic ulcer in the H.pylori positive group (54.02%) was significantly higher than that in the H.pylori negative group (37.5%) (P<0.05).Conclusion H.pylori infection and upper gastrointestinal bleeding are correlated in the patients of liver cirrhosis.Eradication of H.pylori infection may reduce upper gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis.
