Abstract: Objective To compare the clinical effects of mini-plate internal fixation versus screw internal fixation on ankle fracture. Methods A total of 80 patients with posterior malleolus fracture treated in our hospital from January 2015 to June 2017 were randomly divided into two groups: mini-plate group and lag screw group, with 40 cases in each group.By using different internal fixation methods, the clinical efficacy, operation time, and fracture healing time of the two groups were compared, and the Baird-Jackson scores and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared after one-year follow-up.Results The effective rate of the group with lag screw fixation was 97.50%, which was higher than that of the group with mini-plate fixation (92.5%), but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).The operation time and fracture healing time of the group with lag screw fixation were significantly less than those of the group with mini-plate fixation (P<0.05).After one year of follow-up, the Baird-Jackson score of the group with lag screw fixation was significantly higher than that of the group with mini-plate fixation(P<0.05).There were no obvious adverse reactions in both groups. Conclusion Both lag screw internal fixation and mini-plate internal fixation are effective in the treatment of posterior ankle fracture, but there are differences between the two methods in operation effect and recovery. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account of the fracture condition of patients when making internal fixation schemes for posterior ankle fracture.
