Abstract: Objective To study the effect of arthroscopic-assisted channel expansion on secondary popliteal cyst. Methods A total of 100 patients with secondary popliteal cyst patients were investigated from January 2016 to January 2019 and randomly divided into a control group (n=50) and an observation group (n=50). The control group took conventional resection of posterior popliteal cyst; the observation group took the arthroscopic debridement under local anesthesia, channel expansion between cyst and articular cavity, and preservation of cyst wall. Hospital stays and overall treatment effective rate were compared. Results Hospital stays in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05); overall treatment effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Arthroscopic-assisted channel expansion can preserve cyst wall, reduce clinical trauma and hospital stays, and increase surgical effects.
