Objective To compare the clinical effects of endoscopic thyroidectomy via breast areola approach and open surgery.Methods A total of 96 female patients with benign thyroid tumor treated from June 2017 to June 2018 in Heping County People’s Hospital were selected and assigned to two groups by random numbertable,with 48 cases in each group.The control group received open surgery; the observation group received endoscopic thyroidectomy via breast areola approach.The operation conditions,incidence rate of postoperative complications,and postoperative cosmetic satisfaction were compared.Results The intraoperative blood loss volume,postoperative drainage volume,operation time,and hospitalization time of the observation group were less than those of the control group,while the cosmetic satisfaction rate of the observation group (91.67%) was higher than that of control group (75.00%) (P＜0.05).The incidence rate of postoperative complications between the two groups was not significantly different (χ2=0.716,P＞0.05).Conclusion Applying endoscopic thyroidectomy via breast areola approach can reduce intraoperative blood loss volume and postoperative drainage volume,shorten operation time and hospitalization time,and improve postoperative aesthetic satisfaction.
