The value of tubercle bacilli DNA detection of seminal fluid and epididymal nodules puncture specimen in epididymal tuberculosis diagnosis

Abstract

Objective To assess the value of tubercle bacilli DNA detection of seminal fluid and epididymal tuberculous puncture specimen in epididymal tuberculosis diagnosis.Methods From Jan.2010 to Feb.2018, 42 patients with epididymal nodules were selected.Tubercle bacilli DNA detection of seminal fluid and epididymal nodules puncture specimen were taken.Tubercle bacilli were also tested and positive tuberculosis rate was calculatel.Results The positive rate of TB-DNA in the epididymal puncture group was significantly higher than that in the semiral fluid group (42.86% vs.28.57%,P<0.01).The positive rates of smear test had no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Tubercle bacilli DNA detection of seminal fluid and epididymal nodules puncture specimen have a great value in diagnosing epididymal tuberculosis.
