Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of acupuncture plus moxibustion at Guanyuan acupoint on urinary retention after mixed hemorrhoids surgery, and provide a safe, effective, and convenient treatment of urinary retention.Methods A total of 315 cases of mixed hemorrhoids postoperative urinary retention were devided by random number table method into a treatment group and a control group.The treatment group of 165 cases received acupuncture and moxibustion at Guanyuan acupoint, and the control group of 150 cases received Neostigmine injection.Comparison of the clinical efficacy and treatment time of urinary retention were made between the patients with acupuncture treatment and western medicine treatment after mixed hemorrhoids surgery.Results The total effective rate was 90.90% in the treatment group and 72.00% in the control group.There was a significant difference in efficacy between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion The therapy of acupuncture and moxibustion at Guanyuan acupoint is effective in treating urinary retention after mixed hemorrhoids surgery, with high effective rate, simple operation,and no side effect.
