Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of laparoscopic surgery on adhesive intestinal obstruction. Methods A total of 120 patients with adhesive intestinal obstruction admitted to our hospital from January 2014 to December 2017 were selected as study subjects and divided into open group (60 cases) and laparoscopic group (60 cases) according to the surgery they received. The surgery effects were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time, exhaustion time, ambulation time, and hospitalization time in the laparoscopic group were significantly shorter than those in the open group (P<0.05), while the amount of bleeding during operation was significantly less (P<0.05), and the incidence of complications was significantly lower (P<0.05), in the laparoscopic group than those in the open group. Conclusion Laparoscopic surgery is safe and reliable for adhesive intestinal obstruction as it can shorten operation time, reduce intraoperative bleeding and postoperative complications, and promote postoperative rehabilitation.
