Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical effects of traditional Chinese medicine integrated with western medicine on acute biliary pancreatitis. Methods A total of 140 patients with acute biliary pancreatitis were randomly divided into groupⅠ (n=70), who received conventional therapy, traditional Chinese medicine formula, and minimally invasive surgery, and groupⅡ (n=70), who received conventional therapy and minimally invasive surgery. The recovery time of serum amylase, abdominal pain relief time, first self-venting and defecation time, hospital stay, complication rate, and death rate were compared between the two groups. Results The recovery time of serum amylase, abdominal pain relief time, first self-venting and defecation time, and hospital stay in the groupⅠwere significantly shorter than those of the groupⅡ (P<0.05); the complication rate and death rate in the groupⅠwere also significantly lower than those of the groupⅡ (P<0.05).Conclusion The combined therapy of traditional Chinese medicine formula and endoscopic intervention shows better effects on patients with early-stage acute biliary pancreatitis and deserves clinical promotion.
