Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of cystoscopy on the invasion of tape material into the bladder after tension-free vaginal tape obturator (TVT-O) operation. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 12 cases of invasion of tape material into the bladder after TVT‐O operation, including causes, diagnosis and treatment methods, and results. Results All the 12 patients underwent successful removal of the invading tape under cystoscope, and recovered well after the operation with preoperative symptoms disappearing. At the follow-up visits 2 months later, except for 2 patients with recurrence of urinary incontinence symptoms, the remaining patients did not report discomfort. Conclusion There are various reasons for the tape invading the bladder after TVT-O. Cystoscopy is the best choice for tape invasion as it can diagnose the disease clearly and remove the invading tape materials in a minimally invasive, safe, and feasible way.
