Discussion on the integration of resources and coordination of development in medical periodicals and journals of colleges in Shanghai

Abstract: Objective To discuss the ways and means of managing the medical periodicals in Shanghai with the purpose for sharing the resouces of information and data. Methods Information of the medical periodicals and journals of colleges in Shanghai during Nov 2009 to Jul 2011 was collected,by the questionnaire survey with 87 questions to editorial department of 45 medical journals performed online,holding the symposium and seminar,inspection and visiting. Results The returned questionnaire information of 42 journals showed: the rate of survey was 93.33%,including 34 Journals of Collages and 9 journals of Shanghai institutes for biological science of China Academy of science. The impact factors,degree of internationalization,and the degree of digital establishment of Shanghai institutes for biological science were higher than that of college medical journals(P<0.005). Conclusions Breaking the existing manage system gradually,following the collectivization and cooperative model,integrating the resources of college medical journals,improving management and balancing development are trends of journal development in line with marketing economics.
