Abstract: Objective To analyze the detection rates of various indicators at different levels following transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy, and evaluate the clinical value of ultrasound-guided biopsy. Methods Ninety-eight patients who underwent prostate biopsy guided by transtectal ultrasound (TRUS) from May 2009 to July 2016 were analyzed. Results In the ninety-eight patients, the detection rate of prostate cancer was 29.6%.The positive rates of biopsy increased with the rising of prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels (P<0.001).Ultrasound examination revealed nodules in outer glands of the prostate cancer cases. Conclusion The detection rate of prostate cancer is positively correlated with PSA level.Any outer gland hypoechoic nodules should arouse suspicion of prostate cancer.
