Abstract: Objective To compare the clinical effects and safety of different endoscopic biliary stent in the treatment of malignant obstruction. Methods A total of 90 malignant obstruction patients with endoscopic stent implantation from July 2011 to May 2018 were selected, and divided into group A and group B by using random number table, with 45 cases in each group.Patients in group A were given biliary plastic stent implantation, while patients in group B were given biliary metallic stent implantation. The success rate of stent implantation, indices of liver function and complications were compared between the two groups. Results There was no statistical difference in the success rate of stent implantation between the two groups (P>0.05).After 3 days of surgery, the levels of glutaminyl transferase (GGT),alkaline phosphatase (ALP),direct bilirubin (DBIL),total bilirubin (TBIL) in group B were lower than those in group A (P<0.05).The incidence rate of postoperative complications in group B was lower than that in group A (P<0.05).Conclusion Endoscopic metallic biliary stent implantation in the treatment of malignant obstruction can effectively improve patients’ liver function and decrease the incidence of complications, which is of safety.
