Information solutions for cardiac intervention center based on integrated information management platform

Abstract: Objective Taking the construction of a comprehensive information management platform of cardiac intervention center in our hospital as an example, to discuss how to use information technology to better serve various departments and promote medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, and management. Methods The hospital needs were analyzed. Data sources with high integrity and accuracy were selected to carry out iterative development by stages and focuses. With the gradual effecting of technology intelligence on hospital management decision support, the expansion of hospital information system, the accumulation of data, and the upgrading of technology, new contents, functions, and applications were constantly introduced. Results Through the construction of a comprehensive information management platform, the internal application systems of the hospital were effectively connected, and a comprehensive analysis of data from different sources was achieved. Thus the work efficiency, data analysis quality, and equipment and bed turnover rates of cardiac intervention departments were improved. Conclusion Starting from the hospital strategy and the most urgent problems, in the face of a variety of decision support application scenarios, the use of information technology can achieve the decision support in aspects of medical treatment, teaching, research, and management for various departments in the hospital.
