Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical application value of modified minimally invasive tooth extraction technique in impacted wisdom tooth extraction and the effect on postoperative swelling control. Methods A prospective study was conducted on 100 patients with impacted wisdom teeth admitted from April 2024 to January 2026. The patients were divided into two groups using the random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group underwent conventional minimally invasive tooth extraction, while the observation group underwent modified minimally invasive tooth extraction. The postoperative complications, degree of postoperative swelling, and degree of postoperative pain were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was 2.00%, which was lower than that in the control group (14.00%) (P<0.05). At 2 h and 72 h after surgery, the degrees of swelling and pain in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Modified minimally invasive tooth extraction can effectively treat impacted wisdom teeth, reduce postoperative complications, alleviate postoperative swelling and pain symptoms, and is worthy of clinical promotion.
