Abstract: Objective To study the expression of ADAM-9 in human’s colorectal cancer tissues and the relationship between ADAM-9 and the clinical pathological factors of colorectal cancer. Follow up the recurrence of patients with colorectal cancer after operation, research ADAM-9’s expression and the prognosis of colorectal cancer. Methods Colorectal cancer tissues (80 cases) and normal colorectal tissues (10 cases) were obtained from patients. ADAM-9 protein was measured by immunohistochemistry (Envision method), And in all cases the patients were followed up by telephone, by statistical calculation and analysis the relations between ADAM-9 and the recurrence of colorectal cancer. Results ADAM-9 mRNA were overexpresssed in cancer tissues and lowexpressed in normal tissues .The expression of ADAM-9 in colorectal carcinoma is associated with tumor TNM clinical stage and depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis which may be associated with the prognosis of gastric cancer(P<0.05). The expression of ADAM-9 in patients with patients' gender, age, tumor location, tumor size, histological type had no statistical significance (P>0.05).The survival time of patients with ADAM-9 positive was significantly lower than that of patients with negative expression (P<0.05). Conclusions ADAM-9 was overexpressed in colorectal cancer tissues and was related with tumor TNM clinical stage and depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and the prognosis of colorectal cancer. ADAM-9 may be a prognostic indicator of colorectal cancer to assess recurrence risk in patients with colorectal cancer. Keywords: colorectal cancer,ADAM-9,prognosis
