Abstract: Objective To study the uncomfortable symptoms of the patients who used nasointestinal tubes after radical resection of esophageal carcinoma, analyze causes, and offer corresponding nursing intervention measures. Methods Sixty-five cases who used nasointestinal tubes after radical resection of esophageal carcinoma were selected from The First People’s Hospital, Hubei Institute of Medicine from June 2016 to September 2017.They completed questionnaires about the tolerance to nasointestinal tubes.Uncomfortable symptoms were collected and analyzed, and corresponding nursing interventions were put forward. Results All the sixty-five patients used nasointestinal tubes during operations. Two cases pulled out the tubes by themselves because of discomfort; 2 cases had unplanned extubation because of other reasons (one for blocking in the tube, the other for frequent vomiting); 61 cases removed the tubes after finishing treatment. The incidence rates of different uncomfortable symptoms varied. Conclusion There are many different comfortable symptoms during the use of nasointestinal tubes.Offering nursing care against the causes can obviously improve the tolerance with tubes and help recovery.
