Abstract: Objective To explore the analgesic and hemostatic effect of bFGF by ultrasonic scaling treatment.Methods Fourty eight cases of chronic marginal gingivitis by ultrasonic scaling treatment were randomly divided into the experimental group (Group A,24 cases) and control group (Group B,24 cases).The patients aged from 18 to 52 years.The use of bFGF in Group A,bFGF three times a day for seven days.while in Group B,bFGF method was not used.The analgesic and hemostatic effects were observed.Results The Analgesic and hemostatic effects of Group A were significantly better than those of group B (P<0.05).Conclusion Local appliction of bFGF during ultrasonic scaling treatment was safe for analgesis and hemostasis .It is worthy of clinical application because it can relieve patients’ suffering.
