Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical effect of laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy. Methods In 60 patients with gastric carcinoma, 30 patients were treated with laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy, and the other 30 patients were treated with traditional laparotomy. The clinical indicies, complications, and three-year survival rate were compared between the two groups. Results The number of lymph node dissection and the time of operation in the laparoscopy group were not different from those of the laparotomy group, but the other indices were better (P<0.01).The complication rate in the laparoscopy group was less than that in the laparotomy group (P<0.05).There was no obvious difference in three-year survival rate between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy could get better short-term effects with better clinical indices than laparotomy for gastric cancer.
