Application of self-made skin stretching device and alginate dressings in limb wound repair

Abstract: Objective To study the application effect of self-made skin stretching device in the repair of acute and chronic wounds of extremities. Methods A total of 78 patients with acute and chronic wounds of limbs treated from November 2020 to February 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 39 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine vacuum sealing drainage, and the observation group was treated with self-made skin stretching device. The therapeutic effect and average wound healing time of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.44%, significantly higher than 76.92% of the control group (P<0.05). The wound healing time in the observation group was (14.13±3.45) d, significantly shorter than (19.04±4.82) d in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion In the repair of acute and chronic wounds of extremities, the self-made skin stretching device can effectively improve the total effective rate of treatment and shorten the wound healing time, producinga significant effect.
