Abstract: Objective To observe the effects of hyperbaric oxygen combined with electroacupuncture at Siguan acupoint on early cognitive impairment in stroke patients.Methods Ninety stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment were randomly divided into Siguan acupuncture group, hyperbaric oxygen group,and hyperbaric oxygen combined with Siguan acupuncture group. The therapeutic effects were observed before and after treatment.Results After two courses of treatment, the Siguan acupuncture group and the hyperbaric oxygen group showed improved MMSE score (P<0.05). After one course of treatment, the hyperbaric oxygen combined with Siguan acupuncture group showed improved MMSE score (P<0.05). After two courses of treatment, there was a significant difference in the MMSE score among the three groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture at Siguan acupoint can significantly improve cognitive impairment in stroke patients and is superior to acupuncture or hyperbaric oxygen therapy alone.
