Abstract: Objective To explore of the effect of hysteroscopic electrodesiccation combined with Mirena ring on endometrial thickness and sex hormone levels, and to provide multiple options for the treatment of endometrial polyps. Methods A total of 70 patients with endometrial polyps treated in our hospital from January 2019 to January 2022 were enrolled and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 35 patients in each group. The control group was treated with hysteroscopic electrosurgery combined with post-operative oral progesterone capsules, while the observation group was treated with hysteroscopic electrosurgery combined with the Mirena ring. The endometrial thickness, menstrual fluid volume, sex hormone levels, complication rate, and recurrence rate were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The endometrial thickness and menstrual fluid volume of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group at the 3rd, 6th, and 12th months after surgery (P<0.05); the sex hormone level of the observation group was better than that of the control group at the 3rd month after surgery (P<0.05); the complication rate and recurrence rate of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at the 12-month follow-up visit(P<0.05). Conclusion Hysteroscopic electrosurgical resection combined with Mirena is effective in reducing endometrial thickness and menstrual volume, improving sexual hormone levels, and reducing complications and recurrence risk.
