Abstract: Objective To study the factors associated with complications after surgery in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods A total of 133 patients with colorectal cancer were divided into complication group (n=31) and non-complication group (n=102) according to whether they had complications within 30 d after surgery.Relevant factors of complications in the two groups were analyzed. Results There were statistically significant differences between the two groups in age, medical complications, time of surgery, and neoplasm staging (P<0.05).The multiple logistic regression model indicated that medical complications, time of surgery, and neoplasm staging were the independent factors influencing the occurrence of surgical complications in patients with colorectal cancer. Conclusion The high incidence rate of surgical complications in patients with colorectal cancer indicates that it is very important to control related basic diseases before operation, improve operative skills so as to shorten operative time as much as possible.
