Abstract: Objective To explore the application of targeted nursing measures in patients with indwelling gastric tube and its effect on intubation. Methods From January 2021 to July 2021, a total of 280 patients who had an indwelling gastric tube were selected as the subjects of this study. The random number table method was used to divide them into two groups, a control group (137 cases) and an experimental group (143 cases). The control group was given conventional nursing methods, and the experimental group was given targeted nursing. The two groups of patients were compared in their negative emotions, comfort, and intubation success rate. Results Compared with the control group, the experimental group was significantly lower in terms of SAS score and the number of anxiety patients (P<0.05). In terms of comfort, the proportion of patients with minimal discomfort in the experimental group was 54.55% and that in the control group was only 9.49%, with a significant difference (P<0.05); the proportion of patients with unbearable discomfort in the experimental group was as low as 0.00%, which was significantly lower than 19.71% in the control group (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the one-time success rate of the experimental group was as high as 93.01%, which was significantly higher than 71.53% of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion In the process of indwelling gastric tube in patients, targeted nursing measures can remarkably relieve the negative emotions of patients, improve comfort and the success rate of one-time intubation, and should be widely used in clinical treatment.
