Abstract: Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of conventional surgery and stent implantation in the treatment of colorectal cancer complicated with intestinal obstruction. Methods A total of 60 patients with colorectal cancer complicated with intestinal obstruction admitted to our hospital from January 2015 to December 2020 were selected as study subjects. According to their surgical methods, they were divided into the control group (n=30, conventional surgical treatment) and the observation group (n=30, intestinal stent implantation combined with elective surgery). A retrospective analysis of their clinical data was conducted. Results The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, and hospital stay in the observation group were significantly less than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the incidence of complications was significantly lower (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the success rate between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of each dimension of SF-36 in the two groups were significantly improved (P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Intestinal stenting is safe and effective in the treatment of colorectal cancer complicated with intestinal obstruction, with fewer complications and faster postoperative recovery, which is worthy of clinical reference and promotion.
