Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of distal radius fracture surgery combined with herbal fumigation on wrist joint function in elderly patients.Methods Between January 2015 and May 2017,a total of 38 cases of distal radius fractures were divided into an observation group and a control group according to the random number table method,with 19 cases in each group.Both the two groups were treated with conventional distal radius fracture reduction and internal fixation surgery,as well as functional rehabilitation training conducted at 2 weeks after the operation.Additionally,the observation group was treated with herbal fumigation for 4 weeks and follow-up for 8 weeks.The wrist joint function recovery and fracture healing effect were compared between the two groups.Results The observation group showed better fracture healing effect,shorter healing time,and higher recovery rate than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Herbal fumigation is beneficial to the healing of fracture and recovery of wrist joint function of the elderly patients after surgery.
